12/28/2009: "Monday"

It's an odd Monday morning. I want to lie in bed and savour a last lazy day of vacation but the garbage men come at seven and the raccoons prevent me putting the trash out at night. My cleaning lady comes at nine and God knows that between Christmas and the kids home from school for three weeks the house could use a cleaning. I have promised to meet with a colleague on a project we haven't had time for during working hours, and company's coming at noon. So I guess I'm getting up.

But before I do I will take a moment to be grateful for the life I lead. It is full of love and adventure and work worth doing, even if nothing is what I would prefer to be doing right now.

Three morals in this post:

1. The hardest part about morning is getting out of bed.
2. Transitions are always difficult, even when moving from one good place to another.
3. A clean house is worth getting up for.

Yours with creativity and imagination,
Darlene
