01/04/2010: "There's a Lot to Be Said for a Comfort Zone"

Today at work I did what I do best and that had a very grounding effect on me.

I am out of my comfort zone almost all of the time now and have been for the past two years.

Living on the learning edge like this is growing but not grounding. It requires a fair bit of scrambling just to stay balanced and while I am grateful for the courage, creativity, resilience and resourcefulness that allow me to make a place wherever I find myself, it is wonderful every now and then to find myself in familiar territory.

Three morals in this short story:

1. Doing what we do best is good for the soul and our confidence.
2. Living on the learning edge is not for the faint of heart.
3. There is a lot to be said for a comfort zone. I am enjoying mine right now.

Yours with creativity and imagination,
Darlene
